I've been trying to do some self-portraits lately. I haven't done them in a long time, somehow I always end up hiding behind my hair or something ahahah. So, a couple of days ago, I tried it... but I don't feel like it went all that well, plus I still hid... only 2 (kinda) successful face portraits. ahahah I feel like punching myself.

Anyways... here are the results:

Let me know what you think.

  6. you are so beautiful, teresa! <3 your eyes, your lips, your skin! ;) make more of them, I really enjoyed this couples. I mostly like the third, the fourth and the fifth :) they are so amazing. I really like your editings to your photos, it makes them look so soft, but still real.

  8. these are great. second one is my favorite. i like the close-cropped-style, freckles, depth of field, parted lips, soft colors.

i think you should try some multiple exposure self-portraits, just for fun. some digital SLRs have a multiple exposure setting... or you can use a really small aperture and a slow shutter speed and then use a flash several times in one exposure, moving quickly between each flash.

  9. hey Ryan.:)

That seems like a cool idea, but it also seems tricky. I don't know much about those techniques. Do you have any pictures resulting from the multiple exposure one or the flash one? Btw... me and flash, we're not the closest friends ahaha :P

  10. Teresa,

I think you can do it. :) I bought an old cheap flash (maybe $20). Then I just held it in my hand and pushed the "test" button to flash. Here's one I did a long time ago with my Minolta film camera...

  12. These are incredibly beautiful. I think you pretty much nailed the self-portrait mission, even if you aren't sure about them. I like that not all of them show your face. They're creative and soft and really, really lovely.
